The UK National Commission Remembers John Ivinson
(11/07/2007) John Ivinson, past president of the British Computing Society and an active member of the UK National Commission passed away on 11 July at the age of 63. Those who have met John will know him as someone who was engaged, constructive and generous. He will be much missed. Our thoughts are with his partner, friends and family.

The UK National Commission Natural Sciences Committee Remembers Anne McLaren
(10/07/2007) Anne McLaren, one of the pioneers in reproductive biology, died this past weekend aged 80. Anne McLaren was a highly respected and admired member of the UK National Commission for UNESCO who will be greatly missed; her brilliance, dedication and passion will remain an inspiration to us. Alan Johnston Released after 114 Days
(04/07/2007) UK National Commission for UNESCO welcomes the release of Alan Johnston and sends its best wishes to Mr Johnson, his family and colleagues.

The National Commission notes the UN Security Council Resolution 1738 protecting the rights of correspondents on the frontline; and draws attention to other kidnaps of journalists that still remain unpunished. (pdf, 22kb)

Withdrawal of Darwin at Downe from World Heritage Committee
(13/06/2007) UK National Commission for UNESCO fully supports the UK Government's proposal of hosting an expert meeting to discuss the treatment of scientific World Heritage Site, following the withdrawal of the UK's nomination, Darwin at Downe, from the 31st session of the World Heritage Committee. (pdf, 24kb)

Urgent Decision Needed for Stonehenge

No Change to the Freedom of Information Act
