Biosphere Reserves Young Scientists Awards now open
Since 1989 UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme (MAB) has been providing 10 young researchers each year with awards of up to US$5,000 in support of their research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity.
Through the MAB Young Scientists Awards, MAB is investing in a new generation of scientists worldwide because well-trained and committed young people are key to addressing ecological and sustainability issues.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Priority is given to interdisciplinary projects carried out in biosphere reserves designated under MAB or potential biosphere reserves
- Research supported by an award should be completed within 2 years
- Applicants must be no older than 40 years of age as of 15 Feb 2012
- Please note that priority is given to applications from developing countries
