Call for applications UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks

The call for applications for new UK UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks is now open.

The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme advances research, training and programme development in higher education by building university networks and encouraging inter-university cooperation. Established in 1992, today over 600 UNESCO Chairs and 60 UNITWIN Networks are established within the Programme involving over 750 institutions in 125 countries.

All UK higher education institutions wishing to apply for the UNESCO Chairs/UNITWIN Networks Programme must submit their application through the UK National Commission for UNESCO (UKNC). All proposals will be evaluated by the UKNC through a two-stage peer-review process. Please read the UK Guidance Note for full details on the application process.

In the 2013 cycle, the UK National Commission will give priority to proposals in the underrepresented areas of culture and communication & information. To support the diversification of the programme, please note that applications from higher education institutions with existing UNESCO Chairs or UNITWIN Networks will not be considered.

The deadline for outline proposals is Friday 8 February 2013. For further information and to apply, click here.
