Education Committee
The Education Committee leads the UK National Commission for UNESCO‘s education-related work.
The committee’s membership is drawn from a broad spectrum of the UK education sector – primary, further and higher education, vocational training, and formal and informal education. The committee is chaired by Peter Lavender.
The Education Committee currently hosts two Working Groups, an Affiliated Working Group, a task Group and a Steering Group.

- Investigating how UNESCO’s aims and values of peace, international solidarity and Education for All could be furthered by enabling international links between UK schools and their counterparts, particularly in developing countries.

- Education Committee responses to consultations from Government, non-departmental public bodies, major stakeholder organisations, and UNESCO headquarters.
