They are personalities of integrity who demonstrate a strong desire to help mobilise public interest in UNESCO’s principles. As celebrity advocates of UNESCO, Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors amplify UNESCO’s mission with their commitment and proven potential to reach out to significant audiences, including media attention and decision makers.
- UNESCO Artists for Peace are internationally-renowned personalities who use their influence, charisma and prestige to help promote UNESCO’s message and programmes. UNESCO works with these distinguished personalities in order to heighten public awareness and interest in UNESCO’s actions.
Both UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors, and UNESCO Artists for Peace are invited by UNESCO, on account of their achievements, to hold the prestigious position.
It is not possible to apply or nominate someone to become an UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors, or an UNESCO Artists for Peace.
