The 2011 Wales World Press Freedom Day Lecture will be delivered by Gareth Price, former Controller of BBC Wales and a former Director of The Thomson Foundation, on the theme of REVOLUTIONS DO NOT GUARANTEE A FREE MEDIA.
The 2011 uprising in the Arab states presents the same problems for the future of the media as did the fall of Communism and the ending of Apartheid after 1989. In this World Press Freedom lecture, Gareth Price will tell of the harsh political and cultural realities, as well as the humorous incidents confronting journalists and broadcasters in the wider world.
This years lecture is being delivered by United Kingdom National Commission for UNESCO CYMRU-WALES Committee in partnership with the Welsh Centre for International Affairs.
