Freedom of Expression Working Group

The Freedom of Expression Working Group leads on the Communication & Information Committee’s work in the areas of freedom of the press and freedom of expression.
The Working Group’s membership is drawn from press freedom organisations, journalist rights groups, academia and the media professions.
Each year the Freedom of Expression Working Group partners with the Press Freedom Network and representatives of press freedom and journalism organisations to form the World Press Freedom Day Planning Committee. This committee advises on the development and implementation of World Press Freedom Day activities in the UK, the execution of which is managed by the UK National Commission for UNESCO.
