Nominations to the UK Register
Nominations to the UK Memory of the World Register are now closed. The next call for nominations will be in 2012.
Are your collections something to shout about? Why not tell the world?
Nominations to the UK Register are considered against a range of criteria including authenticity, rarity, integrity, threat and social, spiritual or community significance. The full inscription criteria and guidelines for applying are outlined in the UK Register Criteria for Inscription, which can be downloaded from the sidebar. The Register is part of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme, which helps promotes outstanding documentary heritage.
Anyone can make a nomination and all archive formats are eligible, including digital and audiovisual.
A simple and quick nomination form with outstanding potential. The institutions with items and collections on the UK Register have already seen outstanding results, including:
- Increased visitor and volunteer levels
- Raised profile of the collection within their organisation, including additional funding commitments
- Visits from local politicians and MPs
- Newly-inspired staff and volunteers
- Used in support funding bids
So why not join a growing global network and draw international attention to your collection? Consider making a submission during the next call for nominations.
