lake district | UK | UNESCO | World Heritage
The English Lake District, a cultural landscape in North West England that inspired Romantic poets and conservationists including William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix Potter, has been inscribed onto UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Nominations are now being invited for inscriptions to the UK Memory of the World Register in 2018. Any organisation or individual may make a submission for any form of documentary heritage for which they are responsible. The key criteria is that the heritage is of outstanding significance to the UK.
